Fun Concours Evening
A glorious August evening saw a varied collection of Alfa’s turn out on the Broadwell village green for our annual “Fun Concours”
On arrival myself and Chris set up the sail banner and marker tape and waited for the cars to arrive, it didn’t take long.
I was a tad concerned that being a month later than normal we would not get many cars turnout and also the light would disappear a bit quicker. How wrong I was, we had a great mix from 105 series through to an immaculate 4c. And the most delightful Lancia Appia saloon brought along by Mark Knight.
The judging forms were snapped up quickly and returned I must say with a good deal of banter and fun. After some careful marking and a couple of recounts we announced the winners while we still had some daylight.
Also a huge thanks to Chris Martin for some superb photo’s of the event, perhaps we might have a Best Picture Class next year!
The winners were:
Best Modern: Peter and Joy Rendell. 4c Spider
Best Italian(non Alfa) Alec Macfie Abarth 695
Cleanest Wheels: James Cunningham. 916 Spider
Cleanest Engine Bay: Chris Martin. 937 GT
Best Memorabilia: Suzanne and Tony Mitchell. 105 GTV
Most Bug Splats : Rod Ashton. 937 GT
Ladies Choice : John Raper. Spider S4 “Beaute”
Must Try Harder: Rod Ashton 937 GT
Landlords Choice: Peter and Joy Rendell 4c Spider
It just leaves me to say a big thanks to all who took part. Alex
